About

I am Assistant Professor in Contemporary Society and Christian Ethics at Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA. I teach courses on Globalization; Immigration; Social Justice, Mysticism and Aesthetics; and Ethics, as well as pursuing research in the area of migration and religion. I have recent peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Refugee Studies and Studies in Christian Ethics, and my first book, Asylum-Seeking, Migration and Church, will be published by Ashgate in October 2012. Prior to starting at EDS in 2010, I undertook a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Initiative of Church Practices and Practical Theology at Emory University, and I have degrees from the Universities of Cambridge and Birmingham. I am Co-Chair of the Religion and Migration Group at the American Academy of Religion and a member of the Society of Christian Ethics.

My research interests include migration studies, public theology, urban theory and theology, globalization, interfaith engagement, the links between social justice and mysticism, theologies of the 'other' and social ethics.
